Spring is upon us and with April hosting both National Credit Union Youth Month and National Financial Literacy Month, AmeriChoice has been busy out in the community.

AmeriChoice has partnered with Tremendous Life Books and other local credit unions to present “Boxcar Indy Goes to Doggy World”, a story that teaches children about saving, borrowing, working hard to earn money, and avoiding temptations to divert from savings goals. We have scheduled multiple readings of the story in local classrooms, day care facilities and children’s organizations to hundreds of children. Each child will receive an invitation to our new community event, Dollar Dog’s Birthday Bash on May 7^th at our Sporting Green branch, where they will receive a free copy of the book.

This is the time of year when we are all thinking of doing home improvements and maybe even buying a new home. With that in mind, AmeriChoice has created many ways to help our members become educated on the process of preparing for these important purchases. Our new home buyer’s e-book has just been released on our website, which guides the potential home buyer through the process and is also great for those who have friends or family members who are thinking about taking the leap into home ownership. If you are a current home owner, we encourage you to check out our very own “tiny house” in the lobby of our Bumble Bee Hollow branch, where we will also be holding a basic home repair seminar on Saturday, May 21st.

Along with the educational tools needed to make these important purchase decisions, we have also provided attractive rates and offers to help our members get the best possible payments for their situation. For any member obtaining a mortgage pre-approval by May 31, 2016, AmeriChoice will pay $300 towards closing costs if the closing is completed prior to September 30, 2016.

Watch for AmeriChoice in the community as we attend many events throughout the Spring and Summer and hold our own signature events at each branch from May through September. This year, we are also excited to sponsor the singing of the national anthem at all Harrisburg Senators home games for the 2016 season.
