Community service and involvement is a big part of what makes Credit Unions so great.  Part of being involved in the communities we serve is working with people to give them a better understanding of how their finances work, and how some decisions and purchases they make today can affect their finances in the future.  Having just a basic understanding of financial literacy can make a huge difference in people’s financial lives.

Reaching out to the youth in the community and having a discussion on being financially responsible can set them on the right path later in life, holding that discussion on a level that students will understand is helpful for their understanding.  We’ve done financial literacy presentations in schools for pre-school children to college students, and every age in between.  The great thing about working with local schools is we’re able to build those relationships and work with the students as they grow.    AmeriChoice offers members a variety of free services and that includes free financial literacy presentations to our members as well as those in the community.  We’re able to work with a school, organization or company to put together an age appropriate presentation on a variety of topics from understanding accounts, to how credit works, applying for a loan and anything in between.

The great thing about financial literacy is it is not just for kids!  Adults also benefit from a financial literacy session.  We can put together a Lunch and Learn for your company or organization, all you have to do is let us know how many will be attending, what topic you’d like and we’ll do the rest.  There is no sales pitch at the end for people to open accounts, we just want to make sure that everyone leaves with a better understanding of the topic.

Our financial literacy presentations are able to fit you and your needs.  If you’re a teacher who’s trying to teach elementary school children about savings, we can do that, if you’re a high school teacher trying to teach how to balance a checkbook, we can do that too.  If you’re in human resources and you want your employees to be more financially savvy, let us help.

In addition to our financial literacy presentations, we also offer a free Personal Financial Analysis to our members.  One of our experts will take a look at your finances and help you determine the best way to save you money or become debt free.
